FOUR REASONS TO MEAL PREP

One of the most common reasons people share for not being able to eat healthy is lack of time.

While these people are undoubtedly busy, there is no reason to let health and wellbeing suffer. If you are an on-the-go busy-bee, running after kids, on calls all day, etc. you can still prepare ahead of time to better set yourself up for success.

1.  MEAL PREPPING HELPS TO MAKE BETTER CHOICES

Often times if we are not prepared, we finish the workday and by the time we get home, we are starving. This can lead to choosing fast-food or eating something out of convenience rather than desire. Meal prepping allows you to eat closer to the times you are hungry and allows you to prepare something well-rounded and nourishing to optimize energy levels and health.

2.  MEAL PREPPING SAVES MONEY

Constantly eating on-the-go adds up. A latte here, a sandwich there, and drinks after work can be costly. Rather than having to spend money out, meal prepping allows you to only spend money dining out when you truly want to, rather than having to due to lack of options.

3.   MEAL PREPPING REDUCES STRESS

By having meals prepared, it’s one less thing to worry about with your busy schedule. Pick a couple of days/times throughout the week that make the most sense with your schedule and dedicate that time to meal prepping. Cook a few things at a time that you know you like. By doing this, you can focus on the important things in your day rather than worrying about sorting out meals and snacks.

4.  MEAL PREPPING REQUIRES COOKING

Whether we like it or not- cooking is an important skill for all individuals to acquire. It is also something that you get better at with time and experience. Try new recipes, cook with friends/family, and throw on some good tunes to make it a fun experience rather than an obligation.

Start by committing to trying it for a week’s time and see how you feel. It may be just the change you were needing towards becoming a healthier you.
